Addressing a meeting of the House of Representatives today, the main opposition leader and former prime minister said the state resorted to suppression of the peaceful protest launched after that just because it wanted to protect the guilty from the legal action.
“A question has been raised about where we are heading as a state after seeing the delay in the probe into Kanchanpur incident,” he questioned, “Where shall we go for justice if the state itself protects the perpetrators.”
He flayed the government for using the force to contain the protest, which resulted in the death of a child among protesters on Friday.
