Nepal came second to team Japan with a difference of just 27 points in the men’s Team Cross Country event of Paragliding held at Gunung Mas Puncak in West Java, Indonesia today.
The Nepali team comprising of Bijay Gautam, Bimal Adhikari, Sushil Gurung, Ukesh Gurung and Bimla Thapa accumulated 2797 points in today’s round taking the total score to 11,364 points.
While, Japan who had a total score of 9359 yesterday, added another 2057 points to take their total to 11,391 points to win the event.
Teenagers who smoke and drink alcohol are causing visible damage to their arteries by the age of 17, a study has revealed.
Tests showed stiffening of the arteries had begun by this relatively young age.
These physical changes have been linked with an increased risk of heart and blood vessel problems, such as stroke and heart attack, in later life.
But the study also found that the arteries of teenagers who stopped smoking or drinking returned to normal.
The researchers studied data between 2004 and 2008 from 1,266 youngsters taking part in the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC),which charts the health of 14,500 families in the Bristol area.
The study has been published in the European Heart Journal.

The participants detailed their smoking and drinking habits at the ages of 13, 15 and 17 and tests were then done to discover if there had been any stiffening of their arteries.
They had to report facts including:
- how many cigarettes they had smoked in their lifetime
- the age at which they started to drink alcohol
Those who had smoked more than 100 cigarettes or tended to binge drink had a higher incidence of stiffened arteries than those who had smoked fewer than 20 cigarettes or had fewer than two drinks per day.

Lawmakers have said the new bill on safe motherhood and reproductive health rights the government has introduced fails to include all categories of women of the country.
Taking part in a discussion on the Safe Motherhood and Reproductive Health Rights Bill in the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday, they said the provisions proposed in the bill were not appropriate for implementation with some sections of women including those involved in agriculture profession.
Nepal (नेपाल) has its flag red with a blue border around the unique shape of two overlapping right triangles. The smaller, upper triangle has a white stylized moon and the larger and lower triangle displays a white 12-pointed sun. The color red represents the rhododendron (the National flower of Nepal) and the color red is sign of victory and bravery. The blue border signifies peace and harmony; the two right triangles are a combination of two single pennons (pennants) that originally symbolized the Himalaya Mountains. The moon represents the serenity of the Nepalese people and the shade and cool weather in the Himalayas, while the sun depicts the heat and higher temperatures of the lower parts of Nepal. The moon and the sun are also said to express the strong belief that the Nepal will be there in the earth as long as Sun and Moon are in the sky.
Nepal is the only country in the world with triangular flag.
